Asteroid (838)Seraphina

Hi
Jeff, (theodog) Showed me how to find asteroids using Astrometrica software
Here is (838)Seraphina found on a widefield M104 image with the 300mm f2.8 lens from Bert
Each exposure was 10 mins and about 10 mins between each one, taken with modded 350D. Seraphina is Mag 15.8

Astrometrica only reads .fit files so I set Iris to convert the raw files to.fit, and calibrated them with darks flats and offsets to improve quality though this is not mandatory
I now plan to deliberatly image some more asteroids
Iamges were taken on 25-06-2008 from around 7:45pm

Scott your inventiveness never ceases to amaze me. It just goes to show 'quality' tools in the correct hands produces very good results. I am too old and slow to go for moving targets but I might give it a go.

Not bad for a young bloke!
