Calling all Vixen owners

As you know, on the Vixen drawtubes there are no compression rings.
The end piece that holds the set screw screws off.

Does anyone know of a replacement option with a compression ring?
Failing that has anyone adapted anything to suit?
I have scoured Vixens website to no avail.

Cheers!

JMI are the only people who make a focuser to fit the vc200l I believe and they will not take the vixen reducer, so next to useless. I haven't seen any adapters with compression rings yet. Maybe try the yahoo user group.

You could try these guys to see if they have any Mercury Systems VFA2 adapters left in stock: http://www.handsonoptics.com/pts_mercurysystems.html

I have a Mercury Systems compression ring adapter on my ED100, but they stopped production a while back.

Baader produce a 4in1 Universal 2" Clamping Eyepiece Holder for Zeiss (M68), Astro-Physics (2.7"), Vixen (M60), and Celestron / Skywatcher (M56).

It screws directly into the Vixen 60mm draw tube and I think it has a couple of grub screws to lock any 2” accessories and eyepieces.

Hi Steve

Like all Baader stuff, it’s a very nicely manufactured unit – I have one and have used it on my Vixen ED102S refractor.

Cheers

Hi Steve,

you can try this guy http://www.tan14.com/gears.htm

His name is Peter and he can make custom made adapters for your VC200L. He sells VC200Ls in HK and has made two adapters for me to use them betwen a VC200L with a focal reducer and my QHY8 camera. It costed me $70 with shipping for both.

cheers,

Mike

Also check the baader website, they list a 60 to 2" adapter next to that multi adapter for 25% less money, but it's in euros there and expensive. Someonelse might have one.
