Star Atlas Pro: Advanced ??

Hi Guys/Gals.

I'm looking at getting some new planetarium software that will show stars down to mag 15/16 and have accurate visual magnitudes for comparison stars.

Anyone bought and tried the Star Atlas Pro: Advanced edition??
If so whats your thoughts???

I would love to have star mags down to 19 or so, even though i may never use them, but i definitely need stars to mag 16.

Cheers!

Guide V8 goes to 15.5 , and I have not needed to go beyond that , though I have played with USNO online catalogue and maybe one day I might need it to check out objects on digital images (that I might find)

Wonder if Project Pluto has a patch that gets data from the USNO online catalogue and displays inside Guide's charts ??

Hi OBMY, I upgraded to the advanced version of Star Atlas Pro about 2 years ago and really can't fault it in any way. I've never had a glitch or a hiccup with the software and my scope always runs perfectly with it.

I also use it on XP and Vista with no problems either.

A question to Houghy, I see you are running Version 7 of Star Atlas Pro. Is that a new version that's been released or a Beta? I'm currently running 6.2 but have not heard of any upgrades or new releases on the website.

Cheers
