DSS tips

Has anyone else got some tips to share?

Time Saver.

When DSS has finished processing the images, and you've adjusted your levels, midtones and saturation etc just the way you like it, click on the little cog below the "RGB/K Levels" sliders and save the settings by adding it to the list.
When you process your next set of images, you won't have to start all over again, you click on the cog, open the appropriate settings and apply them.

I've saved settings for each of my cameras with a variety of processing, eg. gstar widefield, gstar nebula, gstar 12mm lens, powershot nebula, powershot widefield.
You'll still probably want to do a little bit more adjusting to get it just right, but I've found it saves a lot of time.

I tend to just use the autosave output in photoshop 32bit convert it back to 16 and process away.
