Reistax trouble

Hi All,

I've just finished a session taking some avi's of Jupiter.

I'm trying to process them in Registax, but keep getting a "failed to decompress avi" error.

I've not had problems like this before, any ideas?

Cheers
Stuart

Usually happens when you forget to select Y800 mode for your AVI's!!
I have some pretty good solar prom shots that I can't do anything with!!!

Yeh i've done that. When IC Capture crashes, it defaults to some horrible codec.

You can try using virtual dub to read it in and write it out - you may need to add a resize filter in vdub to resize it back to 640x480.

Nothing to do with codecs I'm afraid. Registax crashes on both the colour and mono avi's, the colour are captured with a Toucam using Craterlet. I've had the problem before intermittently but never before with most of the avi's I've captured. It does some OK, but not others. Will try splitting the files up.

Got a workaround out of these pages, did the virtualdub to bmp thing, worked OK. Splitting the file into two pieces worked as well, but the BMP gave a slightly better result.

Thanks
