Can the Socceroos' qualify through Asia?

Go the boys

We are through to the next faze of qualiying.
Simple poll can the boys make it to South Africa going through Asia?

I vote yes, I think we have a great squad of players and I hope we go as far or further than we did in the last world cup.

If we don't qualify thru Asia we shuld throw the towel in - I don't think the coach has the direction to get us any further than we did under Guus

I expect to qualify, it will be a good effort to get through to the same stage this time though; it will be the last hurrah for a few of the "golden" generation if you like...Harry, Viduka, Schwarzer maybe

It is going to be interesting to see what the boys can do in the next stage of the qualifiers. I am fairly confident that we will qualify but I am definitely not expecting them to cruise through this stage.

All we can do is sit and wait.

Now the lads have been there they know what is required of them.

I'm quite confident that we will be there in South Africa and then anything can happen.

Go the "Roos"

The next round will be tough: 2 groups of 5 teams top 2 in each group go to SA I think. Will have some hard nuts to crack like Korea,Japan,Iran depends on who we have to play against. But we will qualify I reckon.Just.

Now that the Socceroos have had a few games under Pim Verbeek, I think the team can only get better and barring injuries qualify for the World Cup finals.

I'm wasn't very confident of the Socceroos getting through the first round given the non existent preparation for the team when Verbeek took over.

I agree Steven, the preparation wasn't great, but the boys held things together. We will be a lot better when O'Neill and Cahill get back on track.

I hope we don't class the game agianst China as a training match. I hope we go out there and finish the group games in style.

Hi All,
I voted yes. I firmly believe we can do it. Regardless of the outcome they will give it their best.
Go Aussie go.

We didn't play too well agianst China, but that was more of a run out for the Olympic team than the national team.

I totally agree with you Gazz.

It was a bit of a disappointment to watch the national team loose against China at home, but considering that we have already qualified.

I don't really mind.

You could get tickets for $15.00 including public transport to and from the ground. Great value.
