Nobody bidding?

There's a 17.5 inch Dob on Ebay Aus with 6 hours to run. No bids so far, starting price $9,500. Seems a bit rich for what it is.
Tell 'im he's dreamin'.....

Cheers,
Jason.

Its a great looking scope ... The mirror alone being worth 8k is a bit of a stretch though .... omi lists an 18"mirror for quite a bit less than that ... cant find the add now but there was an old 17.5 coulter mirror kicking around not long back fairly cheap.

I had an email conversation with Dave about this scope and I said exactly that , "tell him he's dreamin!"

The old coulter mirror might have cost 8k when new, but nowadays you could get a top notch new one for considerably less.

I reckon he should count himself very lucky if he gets 6k for the scope, but 9500? tell him he's dreamin!.

If anyone is willing to pay $9500 for an equivalent scope I'll put my hand up to build it. I'll pay to get my garage well fitted out with appropriate wood and metal working tooling, make the scope and still make a profit

It didn't sell, and has been re-listed starting at $8k. I think I'll still leave it with him.

Cheers,
Jason.
