Hi All, after the usual guiding struggles managed to snap off a few pics of the Triffid and Lagoon Nebs.
5 x 200s and 1 x300s lights at 800ISO with Canon 40D 0.8x WO reducer and York Optical ED80 (560mm FL without reduction). I've processed in Images Plus along with darks but no flats (still haven't got the hang of those). Applied DDP, smoothed, and applied noise reduction and multi-resolution sharpening in IP and then finished off in Photoshop with further noise reduction and colour balancing - I feather selected the inner part of the lagoon to selectively bring up the red that my unmodded camera fails to pick up.
All in all I'm pretty happy with the result, but look forward to going a bit deeper with perhaps a lower ISO.
Thanks Fella's, yeh I pushed the colour saturation up a fair bit on this and pushed up the Red and Blue colour sliders while trying to keep the background nice and black with the black eye dropper tool in PS.
I processed this on my notebook and was quite surprised to see how different the colour (darker mainly) looked on my desktop at work. I might have to start posting two images in future optimised for each
Thought, I'd try cropping on the Triffid and Laggon separately to bring up the image scale on each. Here they are attached. Easier to see the detail but I think I prefer the all in one view - has more visual interest and variety
