Jupiter 11-6-08 - Brisbane.

Hey.. First clear night in a while, and new toys arrived today.. I couldnt resist.

Seeing : Not great, but not the worst I've seen.

The addition of a 3x Barlow has made a great deal of difference, now the imaging train consists of the SPC900NC -> 2cm extention -> 3x Barlow -> 8" Dob.

without tracking Im getting roughly 6 - 8 seconds while jupiter is in frame, So im not able to capture more than say, 200 frames before having to re-align..

That being said.....

Very nice Alex, they're looking really good!
When are you getting tracking? You're off to a great headstart.

Hi Alex,

Another fine set of pics, the details are great!

I am just wishing I can find an SPC900nc, they are rarer than rocking horse.......

Top stuff!

Chris

Thanks guys, I'm really surprised at the image scale... I wasnt quite expecting it to get so much bigger... The 2cm extention also makes quite a difference.

Mike. I've ordered an EQ6Pro from York Optical (they matched the bintel/andrews price of $1495) And it should be here within a couple of weeks...

My electric focuser arrived yesterday too, but I've had trouble getting one of the focuser knobs off to fit it.. I dont have a hex key the correct size.. will grab one from work and fit it up tonight...

Thanks again everyone.
Alex.
