Trifid Nebula with QHY8

A compilation of 7 X 10 minute exposures, fully calibrated with Darks,Flats and bias shots.
Camera: QHY8
Gain: 20%
Offset:120
Telescope: Takahashi FS102 guided by QHY5 and ED80
Captured with Nebulosity
Stacked in IPlus
Cropped and final adjustments in CS2

Ah yes, a fully calibrated image, makes a difference huh?

It looks a bit soft, was this from the seeing or a focus problem perhaps?

Nice work non the less, the Trifid is one object that's hard to get sick of looking at images of.

I think the seeing may have had a little to do with it. I swung the scope around onto Jupiter and could not even make out the moons and Jup was in full rap dance mode.

tres a whole swathe of objects i want to do in that area... still plenty of time left in the season for them.

pity about the seeing .... but at least you have clear skies, down this side of the divide its been attrocius. " cloud city "

Really nice image - I've heard a lot of good things about the QHY8. Are they direct imports or is there a distributor?

Firstly a lovely shot, colors good and a lot of contrast in the daark nebulae. I know what you mean about the seeing recently right across the ranges. Fairly clear skys but everythings got the shakes.
