Another Lagoon - DSI III Colour Pic

Got out last night and had time for one go at M8. This is the first time I've processed without using Envisage for darks. ie: I took separate darks\flats\bias and used CCDStack for the first time. I managed to punch holes in some of the stars (overused the sigma reject I think) but I really like CCDStack. Doing it after the fact is more fun and gives a better result in my view

This is 22mins through the ED80 autoguided on the LX200R

A fine effort Dan with the new software, the colours and details look good.

There are a few stars that look a bit overdone but I'm sure you'll sort that out as you get used to CCDStack and it hasn't hurt the nebulosity.

Cheers

looks a fine result

..the colours are reminiscent of an unmodded Canon which is a bit strange-would have expected a more red than pink with a DSI

Not bad for 22mins Dan! Always takes time to get up to speed with new software. If you keep working the same data over and over, you'll start to get the feel for the programs potential. Look forward to seeing more.

Thanks Ric
CCDStack's taught me a lot re preprocessing stacks of data so I think its worth the effort

Agreed - I did tweak the colour balance slightly though

Thanks Jase - I will rework this as I'm pretty sure I stuffed the Sigma Reject which is wy many of the stars look like bagels once you magnify them

For only 22 minutes of data, you have done a great job.

Well done Dan.
