Unhappy Little time for viewing / imaging...

Hey guys,

Over the past few months, I've got out the scopes only a handful of nights. This is due to a combination of work, gym, weather, and sporadic family and friend gatherings. I've missed Ron's nights twice, missed Barambah twice....

The dob is easy to plonk outside and have a gander through, but the imaging setup is a bit to much, and after work and gym, at 9pm I'm too tired and lazy to get it outside.

How do you guys do it so much? Especially during the weekdays. The only time I can really get out there is weekends, and that's dependant on weather conditions.

Just havin a whinge.... Took me 2 hours to finish this post, because I'm busy at work. lol

you're not alone, I've only just emerged from a 12month hiatus where I didn't do any astro stuff at all, mostly due to work and family pressures... I spend more time gazing longingly at my gear than I ever do at the sky

I haven't had much of a chance lately either. I've been working on 6 days a week plus recent weather. I do have a week or 2 off and I'm injured so I can't do any heavy lifting, driving me crazy not be able to do anything.

Agreed, I'm in the same boat... very hard to find time for it. For me the semi-solution has been to have Goto and automation. Automation lets me get some of the images I'd get if I had more time. Start it running and get photo's while I sleep. Doesn't work for visual observing! And doesn't always work for photography. But it's a trade-off.

We, like 85% of australians are just waiting for that lotto win, to be able to spend more time on our hobbies
