Hi Shawn.

Just taking it easy after a big night at the Gabba watching the Lions beat the Kangaroos.

Will be heading off to Suncorp later this arvo to cheer on the Socceroos in their World Cup qualifier against Iraq.

Bit of a sporting weekend....which is great since there's been absolutely no chance to do any astro

I'm back in Tas after a few days in Cairns, the weather was unseasonally cold there and wet some of the time as well. Is it unusual for rain in the dry season Shawn?

Too right, the seasons are way up the muck,,Were still getting rain when its cold.. What use is rain when its freezing... .. the night sky is unstable if not cloudy,,Its a whole different scenario from the last 3 or 4 years...

Sigh.
I'm getting some housework out of the way.
I reward myself after each chore by spending time on the 'puter.
After lunch I'm going to settle down under the doona for some reading or maybe watch a movie.

sitting under cloud - waiting for the NIAR....................just when the moon is dark we end up with the leftovers of Queensland's downpour + develop our own little low pressure system. Has dropped from 1029 to 1025 in 5 hours so its on its way down......more cloud ........ sporadic showers but wait Super Tuesday------> more heavy rain.

All i am doing is fixing a few PC's - one for my wife's friend - she will be here soon - i better prepare for a yak attack...............

as for astro goodies, none this week....... although i have bought two plastic boxes to make a computer hutch for the two laptops. will Velcro in a power board - a powered usb hub, cut a hole in the back for cables, make a spot for the GPUSB to stay, oh and add some shroud or paint it. not sure which yet?

Went to bed at two o'clock two, then got up at six thirty to watch the shuttle launch, then had a kip for a couple of hours.
Now playing with my weather station, which seems to be working OK and on iceinspace.

Watched the shuttle launch, breakfast, work on an article for IIS, do some fencing, had a mate drop in, show him around the new place, have a cuppa tea and a good yarn, play with the new fisheye lens, light the fire, browse IIS.

Oh, and in amongst that, there was a lot of patting the dog... he's a bit of a pat extractor. Should've called him Pat... be a great name for a dog...

Lots of cloud and easterly mist here, and the temperature has dropped 5蚓 in the last hour, so the forecast is for movies, TV and reading (and patting the dog) for the rest of the day...

Al.

Sunny Perth ain't so sunny today, it's been clouded out three days running. Just took the dog for another 6 klm walk. Gearing up for a 40 klm over night walk next weekend weather permitting.

Checked out this forum, tried my remote on the DSLR seems to work Ok.

Otherwise just bummed around what else is there t do on a lazy Sunday.

I've been going over the resume to see if the skills I claim to have, are still there.

Sunday started out well... whooped Mitchell on the Nintendo 64, and attempted to get my computer going again, while fighting off the endless intrusive affection of my cats Mobius and Schrodinger. Its seems as though no matter what your doing they want in on it :p tehehe

I did as little as humanly possible .

I stayed close to the reverse cycle airconditioner (nice and toasty) and dozed most the afternoon away.
