Take a bow Matty P

I'm active in numerous forums, most not related to Astronomy and therefore interact with countless people in settings much like IIS.
My day time job also has me dealing with hundreds of people a week.

Not often am I that impressed with a person I feel a need to make it known to others. But I have to with Matty P.

I've read too many of his posts to count, well constructed questions aswell as very knowledgable, intelligent and well constructed answers to others questions.

I've learnt from him, it was Matty who sparked my interest in capturing the ISS, he even cleaned up one of my images for me.

I met him the other day for the first time, I was expecting to meet someone aproaching my age.
I have to say I was absolutely floored when this young fellow of 13 introduced himself to me as Matty P.

Seeing some of the images he has produced so far, knowing some of his goals and the determination this young fellow has, I know we will be treated to some outstanding images in the future.

Matty it was real pleasure to meet you the other day...thankyou!

Thanks Steve and Dave for the words of encouragement, I really appreciate it.

I have learnt so much from the IIS community in such a short amount of time. It is a great place to learn from many experts and pass on information.

Since I have started Astrophotography, one of my main goals is to get one of my images published in the Australian Sky & Telescope magazine.

I hope to meet all of you at IISAC later on in the year.

Your parents must be really proud of you.
A fine role model for other young people.

What a delightfully inspiring story! Thanks for sharing your experiences and reflections upon meeting Matty – it is so nice to read of such uplifting encounters with members of our community.

Matty – you certainly write in advance of your years; you obviously have a bright future in astronomy, not to mention this intriguing journey we call life!

Cheers

Well done Matty, you are posting some great images lately. I'm sure it's only a matter of time before you have one published.

Cheers
