IceInSpace from Outer Space!

Wooohooo!

I'm finally on satellite! Everyone on broadband should occasionally go back to dial up for a month... it's like hitting your head on a brick wall (it's great when you stop!)

I also got the TV sorted today as well... not that I watch a lot of TV, but TV gives us an excuse to watch the news (a welcome break from the girls watching endless repeats of McLeods Daughters and Gilmour Girls on DVD!)

I'm still on dial up Al. Out our way we may get broadband in another year maybe. The funniest thing is that we are only 50 km from Canberra.

We need more pollys living out our way, then things might change in a hurry.

Cheers

Well Al I for one shall expect a higher flow of data from you..there is now no excuse for brevity... I look forward to a faster connection so I can write full posts not the shortened versions I am restricted too by dial up drudgery.

Great news dont waste all your time on utube downloads

Do you qualify for free satellite connection? Or has the higher on going cost of satellite put you off that idea?

I've joined up on a shaped plan so if/when I exceed my 3GB per month the speed will just be dropped to 64kb/s (still faster than dial up). The excess download rates are criminal!

No, but there's no other option here.

Be careful what you wish for - they may bring lots of unwanted light to your darkness

Not sure Al, I have only glanced at the cost at that scared me enough

I'll have to have a more in depth study of satellite and it's associated costs, knowing my luck sometimes I'll just get it all set up and they will put in the broadband cables.

Hi Karlsson, a good point. All that hot air rising as well might upset the seeing conditions

Cheers
