Ngc 6164

Hi all,
this image is quite an interesting object.
It looks reminiscent of a planetary neb but the central
star is still intact.
The nebulosity is believed to be produced from the rapid
spin of the star. Perhaps it has began the shedding of its
outer layer ready to go super nova???

You can just make out the shock waves in the surrounding H
areas of the larger Ngc6188 to the left.

Any way, have had relatively poor nights, this night was better
as I gained altitude.
Still a little soft.
click the link on my front page....

Also, I have started early on one of my favourite objects..
Ngc 6726... here's a link to the lum I have so far
(http://www.baytop-observatory.com/cc...gc6726newt.jpg)
Here's a link to the same object, but taken a while back
with my Ed 80 for a comparison.

Hope your all getting out and having fun!
All the bset for now.

Cheers
Rich

Hi,

All that narrowband stuff looks great, Corona Australis is one of my favourite winter areas as well, so many interesting things to photograph.

Good Stuff Rich. You've picked up the subtle shock waves around NGC6164 very well. Lovely colours on display. A visual feast. ...and well, NGC6726 - as you say, you're a sucker for blue reflection nebs. Well done.

Thanks Paul!
You're right, so many objects, so many different fOV's, so little time.

Cheers for that Jase!
Have had to do some maintenance on my setup. reset Ra worm, reassess my counter balancing to gain better consistent auto guiding. Shave some mm's off an adapter to improve field correction... still need another .5mm off I reckon to get things sweet.
Reckon your M83 was about the best I've seen, other than from pro setups. Congrats Jase great details and colour!!

Yes, I'm looking forward to get the colour on Corona!

Thanks guys!!

All the best
Rich

Nice up and close view Rich!
I was almost tempted to image this when I did NGC 6188 as it poped up in the corner of a image while I was framing it up.
Very nice!
cheers Gary

Thanks Gaz,
man you must have a nice wide fov to frame the whole of Ngc6188 in. It certainly is a pretty area with lots to peer into.

Thanks Diets.
Still a bit more work to do on my setup till I'm 95% happy.
Always something!
