First semisuccessful light for the new imaging setup
Its been so long since I've posted any images I thought I'd better throw these up just to keep in practice. Lagoon and Dumbell nebulas taken with 300D through Meade 8"SCT. I only managed to salvage two image for each (see http://www.iceinspace.com.au/forum/s....php?t=3144for details) at ISO800, stacked in Registax, curves and levels in PS.
Thanks Robby. I ended up so frustrated at the end of the night I didn't really bother with too much processing. The guiding seemed to go ok, but if you have a read of the link above you'll see the problem I was having.
They look mighty fine to me Paul. The day will come when i have a better understanding of the process with imaging shots like these, untill then i can only enjoy viewing the pics without to much input on the technical side.
Thanks Peter. I'm just suffering the pangs of frustration atm. I've waited more than two months for all the gear to get here. Just a bit of grumbling over teething pains. When it does all come together its a great feeling to catch a great shot. 6 months ago I would have been wrapped to get shots like those. I'm my harshest critic.
I'll give you fair warning though. If you do decide to start taking a few snap shots you'll be hooked. Just look at Mike. He can't help himself now. HI MIKE Doin' a damn fine job at it too
Hey Paul great to see some images from you at last , i know what it feels like with the frustration of trying to recap previous experiance Super images for the first night out with the new setup {psst get the losmandy rings , you wont be dissapointed}
Thanks Eddie hehehehe
Great shots, Paul, I especially like the Dumbell pic. I cant get that from my place as the house is in the way
Colours in the shots look good too.
