Helix nebula-ED80/canon 300D/astronomik CLS filter

Here's my go at the Helix last Thursday night.

40 minutes of total exposure with the ED80-four 10 minute frames at ISO 40-(from my backyard -ie light pollution central)-stacked in IRIS
Astronomik CLS filter
canon 300D

processed in photoshop and neatimage

Comments and feedback appreciated

Very nice seeker. Good red throughput for the 300D... Have you got around to removing the filter from the 300D yet?

wouldn't dare....remember how it was bought as the family camera that could also be used for astrophotography from time to time

Yes nice shot there, the reds look great, the filter brings that out. Without the filter there would be mostly blue present with little of the outer red detail.
