Optimum viewing power for deep sky objects

Hi everybody,
I am wondering what is the optimum magnification for viewing deep sky objects, especially galaxies and planetary nebula?
Is 200X sufficient? I asked because I am considering an eyepiece that yield 200X and my viewing preferrence is DSO.
