July - Monthly Imaging Challenge

Hi all.

It's a new month, time for a new monthly imaging challenge. We hope you take the time to participate and image these objects, and generally discuss these objects on the forums.

I'll make 1 sticky instead of 6, and link to the 6 threads here:

Galaxy - NGC5128 (Centaurus A)
Open Cluster - M6 (Butteryfly Cluster)
Globular Cluster - M22
Nebula - M20 (Trifid Nebula)
Planetary Nebula - NGC3918 (Blue Planetary)
Multiple Star - HN40

For reports & sketches of these objects, please see the sticky thread in the Space & Astronomy Talk forum.

Heres some i took for first light with a Orion 80mm ED with a Antares camera adapter that connected up with a IDAS filter and a meade 6.3 focal reducer.Single 10 min exposure @ 800iso unguided for each and processed in PS . Fairly good conditions despite heavy dew.

Thanks Mike , i unfortunately deleted some comparsions shots of not using the reducer and i wish i framed the triffid shot better to get the lagoon in {id love to try Eta soon to}.The Orion is a sweet scope , i was worried about the focuser holding the weight but i think it worked well and easy to get a eyeball focus .
