Mercury met Plejades

Today I got the chance to observe the setting of Mercury very close to the 7 sisters. I used the Canon 350d with the 100-300 Canon-objective.

Great capture Werner.

I particularly like the dark cloud drifting in the middle of the image.

Well done.

A very nice capture Werner, what were the exposure settings for this image?

Cheers

Hi Werner

A beautiful photo - the air looks so fresh, as if you live near the mountains!

Cheers

Hi Dennis,

you are right! I live near the mountains, the Alps in Austria. My observation place is 1000 meters above sea level.

Cheers

Hi Werner

Wow – 1000m is a nice altitude. I thought I could detect the whiff of fresh pine needles on the mountain air in your photo! I assume you are snowed in during the winter months? That is, unless global warming has modified your local conditions!

I have climbed in the Mont Blanc region (Chamonix/Courmayeur) and miss those mountains.

Cheers

Dennis
