Viewing onliners

Hi Ice.

Is there any way to be able to see who is viewing a particular thread at the same time you are. I don't mean as it is setup now on the Forum front page where it shows who's online, but on individual threads.

I'm thinking that it might go a bit of the way toward the chat room idea that was proposed a while back.

For example if you and I are viewing the same thread one of us could quickly post in that thread to head over to the General Chat index and start a real time discussion going. As an addition to that if anyone else happend to wander by they would see us active on a page and join in.

I've just read back over that. Did it make sense?

At the same time would it be possible to give members the option of being invisible so that if they don't feel like chatting or just want to lurk in the background they can turn that option off. If you know what I mean?

What about listing members who are on yahoo messenger? ive done that on other forums ,pretty neat , i think if your got a webcam to you can show your images through a scope .

You can see who's online, by clicking the "Current Online Users" link at the bottom of the main index page..

It shows what thread they're viewing, etc.

You can also set yourself as invisible in your profile, so that if you don't want to be seen, you can remain anonymous.. except to me.. cause admins can see all!!! mwuahhahahahaa!

You can also list your ICQ/MSN handle etc in your profile, so if people are interested they can look you up!
