Antares Occulation 23/24 April 08

Well here they are.

Not fantastic but they were shot through cloud and hand held using a Olympus 410 compact digital. Processing is minimal, just a little cropping and brightness adjustment.

Quite pleased overall. The way I look at it is at least I have some record of what I observed. Full report of event is in the observations forum.

Hi Wade

Ahah, so that’s what it looked like in the West! Very nice photos given the technical challenges of the huge brightness variation and I assume captured using the afocal method. Thanks for showing us the view when Antares “popped” out the other end, a very different experience to the one I had in Brisbane.

Cheers

Dennis

Nice images Wade, you captured this event very well.

I'm amazing with clarity in the images considering they were shot hand held. I really like the last image showing Antaresorange colour.

Well done.

Good to see some shots of this, thanks Wade. There's been lots of discussion about it on ASWA's newsgroup but no photo's yet.
