BQ Octantis

BQ Octantis (mag 6.8-6.9, dec -89° 48' 26.2") is very close to the South Celestial Pole (SCP).
The attached SkyMapPro map shows its position (arrowed) at 11pm last night. The white magnitude 7.8 star 15' to its lower right is slightly closer to the SCP at -89° 49' 31.5".
The map helps you find due south. I usually find it using binoculars starting from 47 Tuc and going past mag 2.8 beta Hyi, mag 5.3 gamma3 Oct and mag 5.5 sigma Oct.
