lol thanks for your expertise, Peter, but you're completely wrong.
I do, in fact, know how to tell the difference - I've been doing this for a while now.
Funny the threads you choose to reply to..
For the uninitiated, Peter is trolling.. Trolling:
An Internet troll, or simply troll in Internet slang, is someone who posts controversial and usually irrelevant or off-topic messages in an online community, such as an online discussion forum, with the intention of baiting other users into an emotional response[1] or to generally disrupt normal on-topic discussion.

touche.
for mr meade the forum is what you make it, post some of youre images, ask for some technical expertise, put in a review of equipment... make it interesting .....its up to you.
To be honest, I think you would find that 90% of those "users" would be bots.<snip>

I was simply pointing out that your statement was not fact at all, not even close. But thanks for logging in and posting again. You're welcome to go back to your anonymity now.

Now that's a factual statement - best I've read in a while.
Of course our friend Peter didn't take too kindly for being shown "the facts" and so he took his "bad mouthing" which he is so known for back to his usual home (when he's not browsing anonymously here as Pedro/exfso) to gather some support because he didn't get it here.
Peter,
Please peruse the attached screenshot. It shows exactly the number of unique visitors on IceInSpace on Tuesday, 28th August 2007. BTW, those figures do not include bots. They're listed in a separate area of the stats report. Of course i'm sure you'd know this, right? You seem to know enough to tell me what a bot is and that 90% of the users would be bots, right?
43000+ unique visitors on a day, when the usual average back then would've been about 2500.
Ken (Dragon Man),
I'm sorry, you can't compare the MyAstroSpace stats. The cookie timeout on MAS does not expire every 15 minutes like it does on IceInSpace.
On MyAstroSpace, the "Who's online/total users online" shows the the total number of people+bots who browsed the forum for the whole day.
On IceInSpace, the "Who's online/Totals users online" figure on the forum is the number people+bots who browsed the forum in the last 15 minutes.
So i'm sorry, you can't compare that screenshot and use that to prove that Peter's speculation was fact.
Bert,
Nice to see I wasn't alone at 5am, you were there with me to take the screenshot Nice try .
Thanks for trying to flame things again though, Peter. "fool I am not"?? The "facts" don't lie.
PS: This reply has nothing to do with Ray or the good folk at MyAstroSpace.
