StarGPS - Skywatcher & Orion Atlas/Sirius EQ-G

After a mistake with ordering, I now have a brand new StarGPS system compatible with Sky-Watcher EQ-3/5/6 SynScan (firmware 3.1-3.12 currently) and Orion Atlas/Sirius EQ-G and SkyView Pro. More info is here (http://www.stargps.ca/) but it is basically a plug and play GPS addon. Before returning it to the US I thought I might post up here just in case someone is after one. After $200ono (brand new - still has not even arrived)

Hi Grantj
Sorry if this is a dumb question ...
What exactly does this GPS thingy add to the Synscan system?
Is it simply the current location and time, or does it add some extra functionality to the goto abilities of the Synscan ?
Thanks

Hi Allan,

A GPS module will increase the accuracy of the GOTO.

Sorry to be a damp squib, but the StarGPS unit will only work with SynScan Vers 3.1 and 3.12. It will NOT work with the current version 3.21. Synta changed the SynScan software so that only their GPS unit will work with SynScan v3.21. There is a thread somewhere in IIS about it.
