First light Saturn -UK

I had 30 minutes of clear sky with my new C6-NGT on the 17th April. I was very, very pleased with the first results. I only had time for Saturn as the clouds came over before I could try the nearly full moon.

great shot!

Cassini gap is clear, colors are great! (as you would imagine with 4000 stacked frames!!!)

Nice work!

He he...the CG-5GT tracked really well. At F40 I've been lucky to get 20-30 seconds as Saturn flies across the FOV, but with this mount, It stayed pretty much near the middle. I love this mount.

I bet you do! I've been imaging tonight using a dobsonian (no tracking what so ever...) a-focal mobile phone images, and a few a-focal DSLR... Waiting on a T-adapter/ring setup to go prime, and getting a modded 350D in a week or two!

Tracking mount is definitely on the wish list!

I might add... I just went through your web gallery, you have some spectacular images in there.

Very well done.

Nice first light for the new mount! Well done.

4000 frames is an awful lot though - have you tried being more selective? Maybe try stacking 1000 frames and see if it sharpens it up a bit.

Colour looks good!
