New Snake Valley Astro Assoc Observing site

Yes Ladies and Gentlemen

The Snake Valley Astronomical Association is glad to announce that our NEW Club site is open for use.

The main Clubroom building is almost finished and the Twin Observatories will commence construction soon, but the site itself is available for use .

Feel free to come on a night that suits you. No need to wait until Club nights only to find out that Club night is clouded out.

Pitch a tent in the lower observing area and use the grassed field, or take advantage of the concrete pad up on the top level where the clubroom is.

SVAA Members can use the club site free of charge as often as they wish.

Non Members will not be charged any fee until the site is better established. Non members must let us know when they will be coming. Call on 0418 425 207.

Come and observe or Image in lovely dark country sky, and because the site is on private property, you can set up without the fear and hassle of hoons annoying you.

We are situated at 825 Main Road, Snake Valley, Victoria

That is great news, and I'm sure it will get a big work out over the next few months, congratulations to all involved to getting it to this stage.

Hi Darren

Congrats to all SVAA members - its a great achievement.

Just a question regarding the new club rooms. If the private property is sold what happens to the club rooms, equipment etc? Do all members have a share in the property? The only reason that I ask this is that we are exploring the possibility of a public observatory here in Albury and looking at all the pros and cons of this project. I am interested in how this arrangement works.

If non members use the site and the only control on this is that they need to phone - who is on call to open gates etc? I have zillion other questions.

Regards
Petra d.

You would have to ask the owner of the property that ?, you can contact him on the South Celestial Pole Forum as he no longer posts in here.

Hi Darren

I thought that you may have some involvement with the administration of the observatory, in light of your post.

Who do I need to contact to pose questions to?

Cheers Petra d.

You need to speak to Dragon Man on the south celestial pole forum about the site.
