Hello all,
I've decided to repost this advertisement because the Christmas holiday season is now over. This ad was originally posted about 4 or 5 months ago.
Description
Included in this deal are the following:
- TV-102
- 2" Everbrite diagonal
- 2" to 1.25" reducing adapter
- 20mm TV Plossl
- TV clamshell (mount ring)
- Starbeam finder
- Hard-shell carrying case (with one desiccant tin thrown in for free)
- Gibraltar mount and tripod
- All screws, wing nuts and hex keys that came with telescope and mount
- Manual signed by Al Nagler.
This telescope has been owned for a little over one year and has been well cared for. It is in as new condition and has been kept 100% free of dew and stored in a desiccated case when not in use. The optics have not been touched - when I inspect the objective with a flashlight I can’t see anything noteworthy. However, there is some unavoidable dust build-up on the front element, but in my opinion this has not affected the viewing and so I chose to leave it alone.
The mount has similarly been cared for and covered when in storage, but has cosmetic scratches around the clamshell mounting holes (unavoidable in the dark I’m afraid!).
The powder-coated / anodized surfaces of all individual parts (telescope, finder, diagonal etc) are like new. I could not find any scratches.
If you have any questions or if I’ve missed anything please ask and I’ll update the information in my post. Photos are attached.
Price
I am asking for
$3500 plus shipping. This price is
firm. I feel this is a very good price for a complete, well cared for Tele Vue system, especially for an Australian buyer. Everything was purchased new from Bintel in 2006 for a total of approximately $5850.
Postage
I will ship Australia wide. Buyer chooses the shipping/insurance method.
If possible, I would prefer a local or regional pickup. I am located in Gladstone, which is in central Queensland (one hour from Rockhampton and five hours north of Brisbane). I am prepared to drive to somewhere like Brisbane or even meet someone half-way if necessary to deliver the telescope personally.
