Is 40" enough?

Plenty of 12-25" dobs getting around (Obsession etc) ...but occasionally you come across a behemoth ! . Like this one..

I wonder what the views are like.. Note the finder is 12.5" !

Gee & I thought astronomy was a safe hobby, looks like Apeture fever can be bad for your health after all
What a view though, I can only imagime what Eta Carina, Omega centuri etc must look like through a scope like that !

I've seen that picture before, looks amazing.. and what an observing location!

Apparently those ladders with 1 leg at the back are much better (more stable) on uneven ground.

Now there is a candidate for a folded dob design to bring the eyepiece down to a reasonable level

A definite candidate for a Mel Bartel goto system. Imagine pushing and star hopping manually with that beast !

You will not be getting aperture envy for a very long long time. In fact you might contract the reverse of that disease with such a monstrous beast
