Wanted: Power Connector and Cable for a Canon 40D

Hi,

You may find the attachment useful, I believe the 300D battery is the same as the 40D battery. I did a similar thing for my 400D (different battery from the 40D/300D) but I only needed one 7808 voltage regulator to do the job. I now just plug it into the 12v I use to power the rest of my scope and away it goes

I'm actually after the same thing for my 40D but the English translation of that site has me confused.
Do I ersdtigern the Ebay akkas or do I akkuzallen the eros favourably?

Don't worry to much about the explainations, the circuit diagram is all you really need to follow. The circuit on the left (Vorher) is simply what your original battery looks like and the one on the right (nachher) is what you change it to. The LM317 voltage regulators are very common (pretty sure jaycar stocks them). The rest of the pic's should get you by. I got my battery through ebay, you can buy 2 batteries for under $20 (includes postage), that way you get a spare for your camera as well as one to modify.

The nice thing about supplying power for a device like this is it is fairly flexible in voltage demands, as the two cell Li-Ion battery will provide between 6.0 and 8.4V depending where it is on the discharge curve. Provide clean DC power anywhere in that range at a couple amps, and you are set. I'd probably include an inline fuse in there to limit damage in a short circuit situation, though.

yep..then 2 batteries off Ebay for $25 the pair versus $79 each at Hardly Normals
