:: 60 sec in the Jewel-Box ::

Yep, after pulling an all-nighter on Tue night all I've got to show for it is a single 60 sec image of the Jewel Box (NGC 4755).

After setting up all the equipment, spending a good amount of time drift aligning and hoping to image something for the first time using auto-guiding, it all went pear shaped on me.

High clouds would follow my scope wherever it would point and eventually got fogged in completely.
The dew was unbelievable right from the start so I knew it was going to be a tough night and to top it all off PHD 1.7 kept crashing on me.

So ladies and gentlemen, for your viewing pleasure, I present to you my one and only image from the whole night:
The Jewel Box (NGC 4755).

LOL it was suppose to be a test image to check composition, a single 60 sec exposure at 1600 ISO, no darks or flats or even INCR.

OK stop laughing now.

Great start Andrew. Now all you need is some darks, flats and more exposures

RB,

I'm not laughing, very impressive shot, nice colours and composition, just wish I could do stuff as good as that.

Little effort for a large impact. A pleasing result considering the short exposure Andrew. Look forward to seeing more.

Thank you Chris, I'm glad you liked it.
It did turn out nice, we sometimes tend to forget our early attempts as we move along the learning curve.

Your test shot was nicely composed Andrew and looks like you were set for a good night until everything turned against you.

Will eagerly await your next image in good conditions.
