With all the cloud this week I've been reworking some old images. I had a Tarantula that was very blue that I've now worked out how to get the colour balance right. What do you think?
I’m one of those guys who gives everyone a pat on the back just for having a go at imaging, especially long exposure DSO imaging, so well done, it is a masochistic pastime for sure.
Thanks Alchemy, I think I lost the other 2 colour channels with my first attempt at setting the black point. I've been experimenting with multiple points in curves - concentrating the black end and I think this has helped to keep the stars sharper.
Now I have another processing question - why do some imaging processing applications flip the image? I haven't worked out who is the culprit yet (or which way is up) but I have noticed this with some of my images including this one.
