Still trying to understand my camera, so the best way is to snap away and learn. Using Olympus C-725 set to the Auto funtion. Location was at Lake Hume just outside of Albury/Wodonga on 10/07/05.
Hume is for irrigation purposes only and with the open irrigation channels and the way most flood irrigate, nearly 70% of the water is lost to evaporation.
What a waste!
But lets not forget the Wiers like Yarrawonga and the Locks which are all down stream of the Hume and all add to the degradation of the Mouth of the Murray.

The cotton and rice fields in the other direction are majorly responsible for the problem.
We get nowhere near the river flows promised to flush the system and increase fish stocks. The native fish wont breed without increased river flows at the right time. They've masked the problem by banning commercial netters and building fish ladders to introduce migrating fish to the state.
