Saturn from Last Night, 15th Feb

After all the problems with lappy last night. I was lucky to get a few AVIs of Saturn.

The seeing got better at around midnight when this image was captured.

I also captured one of Saturn's moons. That I believe is Titan, I'm not sure.

I can't believe how much image quality is lost when saving it for the web.

Details:

Celestron 8SE SCT f/20
DMK 21AU04.AS + 2x Barlow
Processed with Registax4 & PS CS3
Stack Size = 650/2600

Thanks for looking.

Very nice Matt, nice and sharp.

I don't know what you mean about saving for the web- it's a 640x480 pixel image - there's no way you should be needing to compress it at all.

Nice image Matt. When you save the jpeg, adjust the quality up to 100% , should still be inside the posting limits.

cheers, Bird

Thanks Mike and Bird,

The reason I have to compress the image is because when I save the image from Registax it is usually around 1.2mb TIF. Then I have to compress the image size so I can upload to the web.

Beautiful Saturn image Matty

Nice and sharp. Are you using a filter in your imaging train when you capture these?
