Ngc 2371 L-osc

hi guys,

this is the very last image in which H36 will be involved, since I
will have to give it back...today...it is a demo-CCD, Terry loaned me
for tests.
actually I am just about to leave heading to London AstroFest!

I wanted to make sure, to finish this most difficult object in one
night.
seeing was very good and so was transparency.
6.5 hours total exp time.
it is 0.9 arc min small and only 13m0 'bright'...

Lum: 15x10 min 1x1 bin
color: OSC 25x10 min M25C
9" TMB Apo f/9

preprocessing: no darks, kernel filter as "anti-hot-pixel-sherriff",
sigmal combine, ddp in maxim
further processing in Registax (wavelets), CCD Sharp (deco), PS (high
pass), Pix Insight (background)
(I used two sharpening masks. the luminance data and a pseudoluminace
"drawn" from the OSC data in channel mixer - very powerful as it boost
certain structures completely differently...)

all images can be found here:
http://www.stargazer-observatory.com/ngc2371.html

thanks for looking (-:
Dietmar

Another wonderful image Dietz. Its a 13mag object you have captured good detail and love all the galaxies in the background.

Actually the PN looks like a lolly ( candy ) in a wrapper
