I'm not too sure how many know of this mag. I have just been informed that they are now accepting international subscriptions for a PDF version only. You do also get access to articles from back copies on line etc. Cost of US$18 for one year, US$28 for two years. This publication has had good write ups on Cloudy Nights as well regarding equipment reviewed, interviews cost and quality as compared to other mags like S&T and so on. Already have my subscription up and running! I saw this last year and asked if I could subscribe but it only US and Canada. I asked if they would make PDFs available and thats what they have. I preferred the magazine as there is nothing like a hard copy (thy sent me the first 4 editions) but its better than NO mag.
As far as Im concerned its the best amg for amateur astro if your at all interested in your equipment and whats available or comming up. Highly recommended.

Thanks for the heads-up.

I had the opportunity to meet with Gary Parkerson, Founder and
Managing Editor of Astronomy Online Today, whilst at the Texas Star
Party last year and also attended his excellent presentation, which I
recollect may have immediately followed mine.

Prior to starting the magazine, Gary had been a full-time lawyer.
His Louisiana accent, skill with words and dry, dead-pan wit make him
a delight to listen to.

Gary was giving out free copies of the magazine and it is an excellent read.
The printed versions of the magazine use low-cost printing technologies and
papers, like found in newspapers that provide full four-coloured printing.
Despite some initial issues with the US Postal service in providing them
with the special posting rates given to periodicals, they were distributing
hard-copies of the magazine in the States at incredibly low prices.

Obviously this is moot for a PDF version, however, Gary emphasized
keeping the end cost low to readers was an important goal for him.

The magazine, as the name suggests, is mostly devoted to equipment and
the stories are usually manufacturer contributed along the lines of a trade
journal. Whereas this means that the articles may not be without bias,
often they refreshingly contain more background detail than you would
normally find elsewhere and hopefully there are less technical errors,
compared to some print and online reviews done by supposed independent
reviewers.

Since receiving some copies at TSP, I have also seen a couple of others and
have enjoyed reading them.
