No flooding but plenty of cloud to frustrate the begebes out of a person.
Sorry guys for the weather , I knew I should not have got a new scope.
I don't think Saturn%25 is talking to me because of my scope and what it has done

Hi Vindictive.. I honestly can't believe the weather.. another cloudy night tonight.. 29 days and counting.

Thanks re my solar filter, it definitely was cheaper and easy to make, and provides some great views so far.. pity the sun only has one small sunspot on it atm.

Looking forward to taking some toucam images of the sun next week. At least now with a solar filter, even when the nights are cloudy I might actually be able to use my telescope, even if it's during the day.

This weather is hopeless,
Warm in the morning then storms and rain and all that in the afternoon. Just like QLD.

They say it is a big low now over SA. The rain as you know is all over the east and southcoast.

We may get to view in the new year!!!!!! or

Best.

What can i say , Well when all the cloud and rain stops the sky will be very nice for at least the first night, and then it should be back up around 40deg during the day,
I need to buy a train set to pass away these nights when my poor old dob remains in the shed or get on my sons playstation

Just to let you know you Ockers aren't on your own with the grotty wevver. We had a couple of nights where I saw the stars a bit, then more cloud. It would seem that the weather patterns have changed significantly.
How am I to try the new CCD camera out?
At least it may give us hope with the cricket??

Hi Aragorn (is that from LOTR's?)
the cloud we definitely don't need, not at night anyway. During the day for melinoma reasons I can agree with, but not at night.
The new CCD is a cooled colour version, 2000x1500 or so pixels, with the pixels being reasonably small, and this lends itself more to camera lenses, or short focal length optics. It is produced in China, and I am keen to try it on the 80/840 refractor, but also on the longer Mewlon (2160mm).
It is however destined to leave me as I am replacing it with a B&W version, primarily so I can do Ha B&W.
I do at least want to try it before I part with it though.
Gary

Lots of you about then, especially in the US.
The hobbittsville shire is about 10 miles from my place, in a place called Matamata.
Good Kiwi film.
