Venus -Jupiter conjunction

Hi all,

We were lucky enough to have fairly clear skies here in Brisbane for this morning's conjuction, so for those that were rained out, here are a couple of images. Taken as described in yesterday's post, but with 15 and 6 second exposures at 4:20 and 4:30 am. Interesting to se how far Venus has moved in 24 hrs!
Hopefully it will be clear when the moon joins in!

Cheers,
Stephen

Nice work Stephen and thanks for making the effort and posting the results, it looks very eye catching. I was still pushing out the zzzzzz’ds in the land of nod.

Cheers

Hi Mike

I got a real fright the other night when a surprise shower caught me and the Mewlon out and I had to hit the main power switch and hastily drag tarpaulins over the rig.

The experience has converted me into a fair weather astronomer, temporarily!

Cheers

Dennis

Here is another image from this morning, slightly brighter than those that I previously posted. I was lucky with the weather - the clouds started rolling in about an hour after photographing!

Cheers,
Stephen

Nicely done Stephen.

I got up at around 4:30 to find that it was cloudy.
