skymasterdcs

greetings to all- it warmed up to a balmy 3f after lasts night low of -8f with a -25f wind chill - i was wondering if anyone has hooked up the skymaster to an eq mount- the info on line from the mfg only has hook up hardware for dobs -wondering if there is another market-would like to hook one up to my lxd55 mount since i find the goto feature more frustrating and time consuming to get it to work most of the time- i dont wont to go the hyper tune route- i usually just use the manual setting circles - any advise would be appreciated- thanks rocco WB9QPU

Rocco, yes it does work on EQ mounts. My friend has a Skycommanded on his Losmandy GM-200 Mount. And I know most of the NGC-MAX, Astromaster, and other Tanget instrument clones also work in EQ mode.

If you grab the Skycommander manual i am sure it will indicate this.

As an alternative it might be worth emailing Gary Kopff at Wildcard Innovations re the Argonavis to see if there is a package available for the LXD mount.

Netwolf since your response regarding hooking up either an argo or skycommander to an eq mount i have contacted a number of vendors about the hardware to do the same- evidently it has not been made for this mount yet- you mentioned that a friend of yours hooked up to an eq mount- i wonder if he has any feed on the net where i might get some insight to hooking to the lxd55 clear skies roccodm WB9QPU
