BY PETER WARD ... another post
From my short time on ISS, I have to say it is an very enthusiastic group, polite, but often not very critical. By critical I am not suggesting you go around calling someone a boof-head!

When I look at a deep sky image the things I like to see are, excellent focus (this is the one thing you can nail every time), excellent tracking (i.e. round stars) accurate colour balance.
i guess most of the time we try to encourage people to further their pursuits rather than kicking them in the teeth... but hey im happy to oblige

i notice your stars towards the edge just smear into comatose blobs, and could you please explain what on earth the colour balance to the right of the image in the sky detail is looks green to me

the image i am refering to is the bottom link

please let me know if you feel i am being unreasonable, we try to please here

Both Correct!

The edge blobs are due to the fact I was not using a field corrector.

The green gradient is due several gigawatts of outdoor lighting to my north, which is a bugger to correct over such a complex and wide field.

The fact that you picked it up shows me you have a keen eye, and I need to be a bit more critical of my images. Not much more to say really.
