Man - dem sure am giant spots H0ughy. Brisbane was plagued by wispy cloud all day today so I didn't bother dragging the 'scope out, so it was nice to see your images. Thanks for posting them.

Cheers

Dennis,

with the exception of the full disk shot which was done with my telephoto lens, the others are on my trust little portable nexstar4GT, I didn't get my big beastie out, too long to set up!

doesn't take long, 15 min tops to get setup, shoot and process. Maybe thats why they're pretty average!

I suppose you could liken it to the Space Shuttle, visually it is a vision splendid, practically it is a dog to try do anything with.

In short there is virtually no real play with focal distance which means getting a focal point for most cameras and imagers is very difficult. But not impossible. i am on the prowls for a second hand etx 70 to shrip the gts and mount the pst on it instead of the 70mm etx scope. with it being driven and "tracking" I may some chance of getting some imaging with a few modified accessories.

there is a cure of course, get a 90mm setup.
