My son (7 months) woke us this morning at 4:50am. Not so good, but when he seemed to go back to sleep I decided to head out to catch the moon - which I hadn't yet seen thru my scope, as it was rising too late (given the waking patterns of the aforementioned son

).
Started to get set up, but he was unfortunately not settling back to sleep. He eventually went at 5:45. I decided I'd have a crack anyway, figuring that it should be bright enough to see quite well despite the daylight. My 2 year old daughter was awake by that time, so she was rocking around outside with me. Shortly she was saying "moon" and pointing it out in the sky

She wanted to look thru the telescope but couldn't quite get it together. Never mind; plenty of time for that later.
Once again I tried to capture the view - with what I see is called an afocal technique (rather than "holding-point-and-click-camera-up-to-the-eyepiece" technique

). The result is attached, and I'm actually rather pleased with it.
