Science & Astronomy Award - Thank You IIS

It has been a huge year for me personally and for our club here in Gove NT.
As the icing on the cake I have been awarded the "Paul Harris Fellowship", Rotary internationals highest award for community service.
I have been given this honor for my astronomy and science education in North east Arnhemland, by the local Rotary branch.
(I will attach an article from the local paper, when I get a small enough scan !)
I would like to thank Mike, the moderators & all the contributors to IIS who have given me the medium to gain knowledge, exchange Ideas and be inspired.
IIS is like an old friend always there 24/7.
I count many among you as good friends and I wish you all a Safe, Happy and fun Christmas and a New Year where you can all achieve your own goals and dreams.

Congratulations Ian!
I'm sure it was also a reflection of your dedication and willingness to share our knowledge of the Universe to mainstream society. A lot of us forget where we are exactly, and we astronomers, curators of the oldest science, put us in the bigger picture!
I think it's not only a win for you personally but for astronomy outreach as well!

Cheers!
Have a Merry Christmas!

Woo-Hooooooo!!!

Onya Ian! You deserve it mate, you put heaps into bringing Astronomy to the people up North. And for your dedication to working with the Aboriginal community and sharing their stories of the Stars.

Well done Ian, a fantastic achievement. You do great work and it's only fair that it's recognised.

I look forward to catching up with you again in person, hopefully at a star party in 2008.
