Hooley dooley! The tax man grabbed $16,000!

What the heck are they going to do with all the money they took out of my final pay on retirement?

I’m sure they’ll put it to good use upgrading hospitals and filling in some of the potholes in NSW roads and similar good works for the benefit of all.

They did leave me with enough $$$ to buy a few toys, so it’s just a matter of working out whether it’ll be a Paramount or a Titan.

Trouble is, you can’t buy knowledge and experience, so you’ll all have to put up with a flood of pathetic, blurry images over the next few years. At least I’ll be off the street corners.

Anyway, have a wonderful Christmas everyone … and enjoy the lovely smooth roads.

Nah! It'll be a good Christmas bonus for some poor deserving consultant who has laboured all year telling them something they knew already

That's odd, When I retired I received my super cheque and was given an extra $10k in a separate cheque . I rang the people concerned, fearing I would have to repay the money, and they answered that everything was OK. That was 8 years ago and haven't heard any more since....Still no wiser about it.

Corporate welfare it's called. They tax you and give the money to big business. For example, the forestry industry in tasmania (mostly one company) is subsidised somewhere between 250 and 300 Million a year. MIS schemes that are subsidising private forestry to the tune of $4500 per hectare need funding as well, so someone's gotta pay. Look closely and you'll find a host of other big business enterprises returning profits that would be turned to losses if the corporate welfare was stopped. Pretty sad state of affairs when they (the government) say they can't afford to properly fund our hospitals and schools.
