Given that only about 30-40 people seemed to vote in the last photo challenge would it be of any use/desirable to send out a notice to all members (that accept email from Administrators) reminding them that voting is open?
I would submit that this would generate more voters, as well as more entries in subsequent challenges, which could only be a good thing.
As it would be one email a month I do not think it would be classed as spam.
That may be helpful to some, but i cant see that as being necessary.
It has been around for a while, and i think anyone interested would be aware of the event, and enter, comment or vote, and it is not that it so hard to find when you open up IIS.
It's not that it's a bad idea to generate more interest in the photo challenge, and occassionally I have done so by posting in the General Chat forum.
But I don't think it's worth an administrators email - I have to be very conscious of not spamming with those emails and so I send them only once a month usually and only for important upcoming events or things of interest.
I agree it's a shame we don't get more people participating and voting in the Photo Challenge, but I'm sure it will grow over time.
