HH in Ha

Hi all, finally got a clear evening on Friday night, about 4 hours worth so I got a chance to get out and test a few camera setting ideas I had been think about over these cloudy weeks.

The Horsey was taken through the LX200R in Alt/Az with the DSI II Pro and a f/3.3 FR using Drizzle mode. The Ha filter was a Astronomiks 13nm.

The sub were 60 images @ 30 seconds taken with Envisage and processed in MaximDL.

Cheers.

Excellent work Ric. Your conditions would have been rather stable to obtain the resolution you have. Nice processing to bring out the nebulosity folds too. Well done.

Hi Ric

Gosh - 30 sec subs, that's (almost) unbelievable. The data looks nice and smooth - well done! Lots of detail there, especially in the layered curtains of nebulosity.

Cheers

Thankyou all, I am very chuffed by your responses. It's been two months since I last got some imaging in.

I glad you all enjoyed the image as much as I enjoyed getting out there and taking it.

Cheers

Ric, not having a shot at your image, far from it, it is great, but the more i look at any image of the HH, I wonder if it is not actually the horses butt.

It looks like a horse standing with it's backside toward the viewer and the head is slightly turned looking backwards.

Just an observation.

Thanks Gary, I didn't take any colour data this time around but I intend to get some later and blend it in.

Hi Leon, that's a good point and the more I look at it the more I can see it as well. The Horsey will never be the same again.

Thanks Lee, the f/3.3 FR is definitely one handy instrument and makes imaging a whole lot easier.

Thanks Seeker.

Cheers all
