Saxon 120mm (4.7") Achromatic Refractor - FL 1000mm, f/8.3 (OTA only)

For sale: Saxon 120mm (4.7") Achromatic Refractor - FL 1000mm, f/8.3 (OTA only)

This unit is in great shape but is surplus to my requirements so, unfortunately, I have no real need of it right now. Ask my wife for confirmation.

I have constructed and will include this resistor-based (which I prefer) dew heater to Al Sheehan's specs see: http://www.iceinspace.com.au/forum/s...tor+dew+heater
It works brilliantly and can be either directly connected to a 12vDC source or via a controller if you wish. It sits inside the dew shield and does not obstruct the light path at all.

This unit is able to be collimated if required as it comes with the three sets of collimation screws adjacent to the objective cell.

This unit also includes the original 6x30 finderscope, and I have pre-drilled a spot (and included the bolts for) a second dovetail block (which you need to provide) if you wish to use a red-dot or any other finder as well.

Mounting rings, shown diagonal, shown red-dot finder and shown dovetail block are not included.

See a review of the equivalent Skywatcher refractor here: http://www.iceinspace.com.au/index.p...41,281,0,0,1,0

Asking $350 plus postage.

Thanks so much for looking!
Chris

Hi there, sorry for the delay but I don't think I'll be able to buy the scope. I'd love to but I just can't afford it at the moment.

Price reduction to $350 plus postage. I'm keen on getting it off of my shelf now to make room for an equatorial camera mount.

Please PM if interested.

hey, what would postage cost to brisbane?

what exactly would be in the package? am thinking it would be a fantastic christmas present for my father to look at the birds (just had a weekend of such with my ed80, and he's hooked, it amazing to watch two eagles tear apart a hare up close )

Hi Josh. I wouldn't have a clue! I guess that Australia Post would give you an idea online wouldn't they? The net weight is around the 3kg mark.

The initial post gives you the rundown on what it comes with.

Sale is already pending to 1crem1 (Andrew) who PM'ed earlier this arvo, but if that fails I'll let you know.
