When do you image

Hi Guys, this is a pretty general sort of question, but I was wondering, do some of you only image at certain times of the year, or all year.

By this i mean, I love to image on cold frosty nights for obvious reasons. but find the summer nights are very warm, take a long time to get dark and the camera noise is greatly increased, unless one has some cooling device attached.

I was out last night and at 2am it was still 16 degrees, and by mid summer that could be in the range of 20 - 22 degrees, no problem.

I have Temp sensors on my Tak, and The Canon 300 mm Lens, and find that they too are sitting on that temp.

Just Wondering.

Leon

I image all year round, If I only imaged by season I would probably only get out 3 or 4 times a year,

plus the more sessions you do the more you learn

Hi Leon, I image whenever I can regardless of the season but the preference would have to be late Autumn through to early spring fo the best night time temps.

Cheers

whenever i can, generally fri and sat nights due to work commitments other nights if i have a day off the following day, even then tend to close down by 1.30 - 2, done the all nighter but find my attention to detail wanes. although in winter when its dark early one can grab an hour or two, so i might say perhaps more in winter.
Not so much when moon is up, might image a crater or two thats about all.

Whenever I can - Cool but mild weather preferred, although summer more comfortable for me, each season has its celestial highlights - early Spring evenings without a milky way though.... but lots of galaxies!

I tend to image whenever I feel like it, like today I did a bit of solar, tonight I doubt I will do anything, but my equipment allows to to suit the time, so I can do luna, solar, planetary, or deepsky. I try not to confine myself to one aspect of Astrophotography.
