If you are using Photoshop, do the following:
1. Open the RGB images. Open the Channels Palette. Click the little triangle on the top right, select Merge Channels from the pull down menu. Select RGB and follow the prompts. Save as RGBImage.tif. Copy the RGB image to the clipboard
2. Open the Luminosity image. Convert it to RGB (Image>Mode>RGBcolor). It will still look the same, but you can now paste a colour image onto it. Paste the RBG image onto it. You should now get two layers in your layers palette. Select "color" as the blend mode.
3. Work on the Luminosity layer to get as much detail and sharpness as possible.
4 Work on the colour layer and when you've got it correct as regards hue and saturation, blur it slightly. This will reduce colour noise without affecting the resolution.
